Captain’s Mojito

This spiced rum mojito came after a friend of mine and I were trying to make use of spiced rum. This is our new favorite drink!

Ingredients
  

  • 5 mint leaves
  • 3 wedges lime
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon lime juice
  • 2 fluid ounces spiced rum such as Captain Morgan’s®
  • 2 fluid ounces cranberry juice
  • 2 fluid ounces soda water

Equipment

  • Muddler
  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Citrus juicer
  • Glass for serving
  • Spoon or bar stirrer
  • Ice

Method
 

  1. Place mint leaves, lime wedges, and ice into a cocktail shaker; mash well with a cocktail muddler. Pour in simple syrup, lime juice, rum, cranberry juice, and soda water. Cover and shake until the outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain into a chilled glass to serve.
