Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken

This slow cooker lemon chicken recipe uses seasoned, browned chicken breasts, lemon juice, garlic, and chicken bouillon. A wonderful fix-and-forget recipe that is easy and pleases just about everyone. Great served with rice or pasta, or even alone.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 pounds skinless boneless chicken breast halves
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Method
 

  1. Mix together oregano, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Rub spice mixture all over chicken breasts. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook chicken in butter until lightly browned, 3 to 5 minutes per side.
  3. Place chicken in a slow cooker.
  4. Mix water, lemon juice, garlic, and bouillon in the same skillet; bring to boil.
  5. Pour mixture over chicken in the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours or High for 3 hours. Add parsley to the slow cooker 15 to 30 minutes before the end of cook time.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
